Banyumas – Still within the series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities commemorating the 47th Anniversary of Indonesia Capital Market, the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) consisting of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI), and Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI) conducted planting of productive tree seedlings in Karang Tengah Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java on Tuesday (27/5). This initiative was realized through a program titled “One Durian Tree, One Family” with 1,500 Bawor durian tree seedlings planted together with local communities as part of efforts to support farmers’ family economic resilience, environmental conservation, and village potential development.
The symbolic planting of durian tree seedlings was conducted by IDX Director Kristian S. Manullang, KPEI Director Umi Kulsum, KSEI Director Imelda Sebayang, Founder and CEO of Yasasan Benih Baik Indonesia Andy F. Noya, and Karang Tengah Village Head Karyoto. The event was also attended and witnessed by the Head of Financial Services Authority Purwokerto Office Haramain Billady. In her remarks before the symbolic tree planting, Imelda stated, “We believe that economic development can go hand in hand with environmental preservation. Through this One Durian Tree, One Family program, we hope that one tree can become a symbol of hope and sustainability for one family.”
Bawor durian was chosen because it is a superior local variety that suits Banyumas’ geographical conditions and has high economic value, both in domestic and international markets. Besides the economic aspect, this activity also has an ecological dimension. Tree planting becomes one of the concrete steps in supporting climate change mitigation through carbon absorption and increasing green cover in village areas. With direct community involvement, this program also encourages active participation of farmers and young farmer groups in sustainable agriculture. This program is also supported by a technology-based monitoring system that enables digital tracking of each tree’s development, as a form of accountability and transparency in social activity implementation.
This series of CSR activities for the 47th Anniversary of Indonesia Capital Market in collaboration with BenihBaik.com is expected to support environmental preservation and create a better climate, as well as support community economic growth, particularly in Banyumas.
The CSR activity funds for the 47th anniversary of Indonesia capital market are allocated to support CSR activities in the fields of environment, education, health, as well as infrastructure improvement and development in various regions across Indonesia. These various CSR activities represent a form of appreciation for capital market achievements, while also serving as the capital market’s commitment to providing direct benefits to the community. Furthermore, the SRO will continue to strive to implement other CSR activities that are beneficial in the long term for recipients and align with government efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are national development priorities.
