Capital Market Surpasses 26 Million SIDs This Week

Jakarta – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reported positive growth in the number of capital market investors as of 24 April 2026, reaching 26,121,311 single investor identification (SID), or an increase of 28.37% year-to-date (YTD). Of this total,  5,773,486 SIDs were newly registered investors, with an average daily addition of 50,645 SIDs, reflecting strong public interest in the Indonesia’s capital market. The number of stock investors also increased to 9,523,625 SIDs, marking a 10.69% YTD increase. Throughout the year, 919,448 new stock investors were added, averaging 8,065 new investors per day.

This week, IDX also showed its support for women’s empowerment through the “She-lebrate Kartini’s Day” event, themed “After Darkness Comes Light: When Women Dare to Learn, Dare to Grow,” held at the Main Hall of the IDX Building on Tuesday (21/4). Organized by PT Dompet Aman Indonesia, the event was officially opened by IDX Director Risa E. Rustam. This collaboration brought together  participants from diverse backgrounds to enhance financial literacy and promote early investment awareness. The program featured inspiring dialogues with Yenny Wahid and Salina Nordin, panel discussions on women’s resilience in times of change, and three interactive zones—Financial Zone, Growth Zone, and Health Zone—offering practical insights on investment, personal development, and social awareness that aimed to foster financially literate, empowered, and independent women.

In commemoration of Earth Day on Wednesday (22/4), IDX launched the “Aku Net-Zero Hero” campaign as a step to strengthen the national carbon trading ecosystem. Through this initiative, IDX encourages broader participation in the Indonesia Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon), not only from corporations but also from individuals. The campaign is also expected to enhance public literacy and encourage active participation in emission reduction through simple and measurable actions. In implementing the campaign, IDX collaborates with Bank Mandiri and Jejakin to help the public in calculating, reducing, and offsetting emissions through an integrated digital platform. Through the retirement on behalf mechanism on IDXCarbon, individuals can purchase carbon credits from green projects and obtain official certificates under their own names, recorded in the National Registry System for Climate Change Control (SRN PPI). This is expected to increase carbon market liquidity while fostering collective awareness for real environmental sustainability action.

On Friday (24/4), IDX reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of human capital in the capital market industry by supporting the First Graduation Ceremony of the Institute for Professional Certification (LSP) IKEPAMI held at the IDX Main Hall. The ceremony marked the graduation of the first cohort of certified capital market professionals, representing an important step in enhancing professionalism and service integrity for investors. The event also served as a momentum to strengthen ethical standards and the quality of business practices within the industry, while fostering synergy between regulators and market participants in developing professional standards that are adaptive to the dynamics of the digital economy. Through the LSP IKEPAMI certification, IDX expects that enhanced competencies among industry participants will fostering a resilient and sustainable capital market ecosystem.

During the trading period of 20–24 April 2026, IDX recorded mixed market performance. The average daily trading volume increased by 4.44% to 44.88 billion shares from 42.98 billion shares in the previous week. The average daily transaction frequency also rose by 1.09% to 2.75 million transactions, compared to 2.72 million transactions in the prior week. Meanwhile, the average daily trading value recorded a change of 3.67% to Rp19.61 trillion from Rp20.36 trillion in the previous week. In addition, IDX market capitalization experienced a change of 6.59% to Rp12,736 trillion from Rp13,635 trillion in the prior week. The IDX Composite (JCI) moved by 6.61% over the week, closing at 7,129.490 from 7,643.004 in the previous week. Foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp2.002 trillion today, bringing the total net sell in 2026 to Rp42.809 trillion.
