Published on 21/08/2025

Jakarta – Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO), consisting of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI), and Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity as part of the continuation of the 47th Anniversary of the Reactivation of the Indonesia Capital Market which was celebrated in 2024.

In collaboration with Yayasan Sahabat Pedalaman, the SRO provided assistance through the Remote Area Bridge Construction Program to facilitate community mobility in Dusun Bumi Ayu, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung, on Thursday, August 21st. The CSR activity was carried out as a form of the capital market’s commitment to caring for the surrounding communities, particularly in the provision of infrastructure.

The construction of village bridges plays a very important role in building accessibility and advancing rural communities. The bridges are designed with high safety standards to reduce the risk of accidents on unsafe transportation routes. In addition, the assistance is expected to improve connectivity between villages and with nearby major cities, thereby making it easier for communities to access education, health, and economic services.

The inauguration of the Remote Area Bridge Construction was symbolically carried out by KPEI Director Umi Kulsum, who also serves as Vice Chair of the Committee for the 47th Anniversary of the Indonesia Capital Market, accompanied by Nurwanto Deputy Director of Supervision of Financial Services Institutions 1 at the Financial Services Authority of Lampung Province, KSEI Director Eqy Essiqy, IDX Director Kristian S. Manullang, and Sahabat Pedalaman Director Wafiq Zuhair Muhammad. The ceremony was also attended by Buay Bahuga Subdistrict Head Edi Alamsyah and Bumiharjo Village Head Bambang Irawan Alida.

During the handover ceremony, Umi stated that village bridges play a vital role in connecting the lifelines of rural communities. “Residents of Dusun Bumi Ayu previously faced difficulties whenever they had to cross the old bridge, which was the only access route from Sukadana Village to Sukorejo leading to various public facilities. Recognizing the importance of this infrastructure development, and through collaboration with various parties, the construction of the 60-meter Bumi Ayu Bridge was successfully realized. The bridge has now been officially inaugurated and is expected to provide easier access for the surrounding community,” explained Umi.

The construction of this bridge is one of the steps to support the improvement of community welfare. With the presence of the bridge, access to various public facilities is expected to become faster and safer. Children can go to school without fear, residents can access healthcare services more easily, and economic activities can run more smoothly.

This CSR activity, carried out in collaboration with Sahabat Pedalaman, is expected to create inclusive and positive infrastructure improvements, thereby becoming a sustainable effort to enhance the quality of life for the Indonesian people, especially in Dusun Bumi Ayu, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province.

The CSR funds allocated for the 47th Anniversary of the Indonesia Capital Market were directed to support CSR programs in the fields of environment, education, health, as well as infrastructure improvement and development in various regions of Indonesia. These CSR initiatives are both a form of appreciation for the achievements of the capital market and a commitment to delivering direct benefits to the community. Moving forward, the SRO will continue to strive to carry out other CSR activities that provide long-term benefits for recipients and align with the government’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a national development priority.
