The Self-Regulatory Organizations (SRO), in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), successfully held the Integrated Capital Market Outreach and Education Program (SEPMT) 2026 in East Java Province. As part of the program, a Sharia Capital Market Public Lecture was held on Thursday (2/7) at the University of Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java. During the lecture, Hasan Fawzi, Chief Executive of Capital Market, Financial Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at OJK, highlighted the growing interest of the public particularly the younger generation in investing in Indonesia’s capital market.
On Friday (3/7), the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), through IDXCarbon, in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), held the 2026 Carbon Trading Awareness Program for the Financial Services Sector and Regional Industry Participants at Mercure Hotel Madiun, East Java. The event was attended by approximately 200 participants from the financial services sector and regional industries, with the objective of enhancing their understanding of Indonesia’s carbon trading mechanism and encouraging the implementation of sustainable decarbonization strategies.
The awareness program featured a panel discussion with speakers from various institutions. The first session was delivered by the Ministry of Environment on “Optimizing Carbon Economic Value: Strengthening the Integrity of SRUK Data in the Global Carbon Market Ecosystem.” The second session was presented by PT TÜV Rheinland Indonesia on “Ensuring the Credibility of Carbon Units: Implementing Accountable Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) Principles.” The final presentation was delivered by IDXCarbon, highlighting the role of the IDXCarbon and the carbon trading mechanism through the exchange. The event concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session with participants.
Through the implementation of the 2026 Carbon Trading Awareness Program for the Financial Services Sector and Regional Industry Participants across various regions in Indonesia, it is expected that more businesses and financial services institutions will gain a better understanding of Indonesia’s carbon trading mechanism and be able to develop and implement decarbonization strategies that support the establishment of a credible and sustainable carbon market ecosystem.
