On Wednesday (11/2), PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) reinforced its strategic role in accelerating sustainable finance by hosting the 2026 ASEAN Climate Forum (ACF) at the IDX Main Hall. This international forum, now in its third year, is a collaborative effort between the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM), Kadin Indonesia, Equatorise Advisory, and is fully supported by IDX. The ACF 2026 serves as a crucial platform for dialogue to facilitate a just energy transition, climate-based investment, and the strengthening of the carbon market ecosystem and sustainable finance across the Southeast Asian region.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Special Envoy to the President for Climate and Energy, Hashim Djojohadikusumo; the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof; and the Acting President Director of IDX, Jeffrey Hendrik. In his remarks, Jeffrey Hendrik emphasized IDX’s commitment to strengthening green funding through various instruments beyond carbon trading, such as ESG-themed stock indices, ESG bonds, and the green equity designation concept. This initiative aligns with IDX’s mission to assist listed companies in their decarbonization journey to support Indonesia’s net-zero target.
IDX’s commitment is further evidenced by the significant growth in ESG financial activities throughout 2025. The issuance of Green, Social, Sustainable, and Sustainability-Linked bonds/sukuk reached Rp35.5 trillion, a 110% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the Indonesia Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon) recorded its highest performance since its inception, with transaction volumes reaching 903,915 tCO2e and attracting 150 service users, including foreign participants. Through this cross-sector synergy, IDX remains optimistic about strengthening the capital market’s role in mobilizing green financing and maintaining environment-based economic resilience for the future.
