Jakarta–Marking 15 years of the continued growth and rising global recognition rise of Indonesia’s Islamic capital market, Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), together with Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI), and Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), with the support of the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), is organizing a series of events titled “Elevate 2026: Indonesia Islamic Capital Market – 15 Years Rising Heading Worldwide” in a hybrid format on May 20–23, 2026, at IDX Main Hall and through digital platforms. The Elevate 2026 series, which includes the Islamic Finance News (IFN) Indonesia Forum and Sharia Investment Week (SIW) 2026, reflects various important milestones in the development of Indonesia’s Islamic capital market, ranging from the launch of the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), the issuance of DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 80, to the implementation of the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS).
Over the past several years, Indonesia’s Islamic capital market has demonstrated significant growth and further strengthened its position globally. Based on IDX data as of May 13, 2026, the number of sharia-compliant stocks increased by 184%, from 237 stocks in 2011 to 673 stocks, representing approximately 70% of all listed shares on IDX today. In terms of market capitalization, the ISSI also recorded growth of 255% since 2011, reaching USD399 billion. This growth has been supported by the rapid increase in the number of Islamic investor base. Based on data from Exchange Members providing SOTS services, the number of Islamic investors surged more than 425-fold, from 531 investors in 2012 to 226,457 investors as of April 2026. These achievements reflect the growing public interest and confidence in Indonesia’s Islamic investment ecosystem.
At the international level, recognition of Indonesia’s Islamic capital market has also continued to strengthen. In 2025, IDX once again received international recognition at the Global Islamic Finance Awards through the GIFA Championship Award for Islamic Capital Market 2025 category. The award marked the eighth international award received by IDX since 2016. Previously, Indonesia had also consistently been named the Best Islamic Capital Market in the World from 2019 to 2022.
Elevate 2026 is an expansion of IDX’s flagship annual Islamic capital market event, Sharia Investment Week, which has been held regularly since 2019. Unlike previous editions, Elevate 2026 comes with a broader scope through international collaboration by presenting two main agendas: Islamic Finance News (IFN) Indonesia Forum on Wednesday (20/5) and Sharia Investment Week (SIW) 2026 from Thursday (21/5) to Saturday (23/5). Overall, Elevate 2026 features 3 international forums, 7 thematic seminars and talk shows, as well as one inspirational talk, involving more than 40 speakers and moderators from regulators, global Islamic capital market industry players, and public figures. Carrying an aviation and flight concept aligned with the theme “Elevate: Indonesia Islamic Capital Market – 15 Years Rising Heading Worldwide,” the event also forms part of the national “Aku Investor Saham” campaign to encourage greater public participation in investing in the Islamic capital market. The aviation concept was chosen as a symbol of acceleration, connectivity, and optimism for Indonesia’s Islamic capital market to continue advancing and expanding its reach globally.
Elevate 2026 series was officially opened by the Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivative Financial Instruments, and Carbon Exchange Supervision of OJK, represented by the Head of the Capital Market, Derivative Financial Instruments, and Carbon Exchange Regulation and Development Department of OJK, Henry Rialdi, along with IDX Director Risa E. Rustam. In her remarks, Risa stated that Elevate 2026 serves as a momentum to strengthen Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s Islamic capital market hubs. “This event reflects our commitment to strengthening international collaboration, expanding global connectivity, and building meaningful partnerships among investors, market participants, regulators, and world-class Islamic finance experts,” said Risa.
IFN Indonesia Forum is being held physically at IDX Main Hall as a collaboration between IDX and RedMoney Events. The event forms part of a global Islamic economic and finance conference series that has been held in more than 10 countries since 2007. The forum brings together regulators, practitioners, and industry players to discuss strategies for developing Indonesia as a global Islamic finance and investment hub.
Meanwhile, SIW 2026 will be held physically at the IDX Main Hall and virtually through siw.idx.co.id, enabling participation from communities across various regions in Indonesia. This year, there are 30 tenant booths that participants can visit both physically and virtually. The physical booths consist of 15 Sharia Online Trading System Exchange Member (AB-SOTS) booths, IDX Mobile booth, Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) booths, SRO subsidiary booths, as well as OJK booth. In addition, the virtual expo is divided into AB-SOTS areas, OJK and SRO areas, as well as areas for Islamic RDN banks, investment managers, and Islamic philanthropic institutions.
Through the implementation of Elevate 2026, IDX hopes to increase public literacy and inclusion in the Islamic capital market, strengthen the global branding of Indonesia’s Islamic capital market, and encourage the public to start investing in sharia-compliant instruments in Indonesia’s capital market. The event also reflects the joint commitment of OJK, IDX, KPEI, KSEI, and all stakeholders in advancing Indonesia’s Islamic capital market on the global stage. Public can participate in the entire Elevate 2026 series free of charge through digital platforms and registration on the official website at www.siw.idx.co.id.
