Jakarta – Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) together with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) and its subsidiaries PT Citilink Indonesia (Garuda Indonesia Group), then PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) and PT Jaya Trishindo Tbk (HELI), with the support from PT Korea Investment Sekuritas Indonesia and PT Phintraco Sekuritas, launched the Awak Pesawat Investor Saham program or Flight Crew Stock Investor at the IDX Main Hall on Thursday (21/5). The program, which forms part of the opening of Sharia Investment Week (SIW) 2026, represents a collaboration between IDX and aviation companies to enhance financial literacy and capital market investment understanding among aviation industry workers in Indonesia.
In his remarks, Acting President Director of IDX Jeffrey Hendrik stated that through the Flight Crew Stock Investor program, IDX aims to encourage aviation industry workers to have better financial planning, prepare for their future and retirement, and avoid illegal investment schemes. “We hope workers in the aviation industry will increasingly understand the importance of financial management and legal, measurable investments that align with their respective financial goals,” Jeffrey added.
In line with the growth in the number of capital market investors in Indonesia, IDX continues to expand investment education and inclusion initiatives across various professions, including the aviation industry. As of 30 April 2026, the number of capital market investors in Indonesia had reached 26,486,735 Single Investor Identifications (SID), representing a 30.17% increase compared to the end of 2025. Meanwhile, the number of stock investors reached 9,562,675 SID, growing 11.14% compared to the end of 2025. IDX hopes that the increase in the number of capital market investors will also be accompanied by broader participation from various professional sectors.
The launch ceremony was symbolically marked by the presentation of Aku Investor Saham (I am a Stock Investor) logo pins to representatives of aviation industry workers, ranging from pilots, male and female flight attendants, to other flight operation personnel. The event also included the presentation of souvenirs to aviation company executives and symbolic support for the opening of investment accounts.
Future financial and capital market education activities may also be tailored to the needs and internal policies of each company. Educational programs may be conducted offline through visits to companies or the IDX Building, as well as online through digital platforms.
The program is expected to gradually reach thousands of aviation industry workers. Through sustainable collaboration between IDX, companies, institutions, associations, and communities, efforts to improve capital market literacy and inclusion are expected to expand across various industries and create broader positive impacts for Indonesian society.
