In order to increase the literacy and inclusion of the Islamic capital market, IDX Channel took the initiative to organize the Sharia Economic Festival 2024 on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 which aims to educate and socialize the benefits of utilizing and investing in sharia-based products. This festival is expected to increase sharia financial literacy in Indonesia, as well as support the Government’s plan to make Indonesia the World Center for Sharia Economics and Finance.
Sharia Economic Festival 2024 began with remarks by IDX President Director Iman Rachman, followed by remarks by the Chief Executive of the Financial Services Business Conduct Supervisor, Education and Consumer Protection of OJK, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, as well as officially opening a series of Sharia Economic Festival 2024 events.
In his remarks, Iman Rachman said “Through this event, we hope to increase public understanding and awareness of the benefits of using and investing in sharia-based products”.
The Executive Head of Supervision of Financial Services Business Actors Behavior, Education and Consumer Protection of OJK, Friderica Widyasari Dewi revealed that the current low level of Islamic financial literacy and inclusion occurs due to a number of factors, namely, low public awareness of Islamic finance. To increase the index of Islamic financial literacy and inclusion, OJK has prepared a number of strategies, namely, acceleration and collaboration of Islamic financial education programs. This effort is carried out through collaboration with stakeholders using various media channels.
IDX and OJK are committed to increasing Islamic financial literacy and inclusion. This is in order to take advantage of the enormous market share potential of the Sharia economy in the country.
