Jakarta – Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has officially commenced the implementation of stock liquidity provider quotations as part of its efforts to strengthen liquidity and trading efficiency in Indonesian capital market. This implementation was marked by the inaugural quotation conducted by Phintraco Sekuritas today, Monday (April 20).
In this initial phase, Phintraco Sekuritas is providing quotations by placing both bid and offer orders for five stocks: PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM), PT Trans Power Marine Tbk (TPMA), PT Asuransi Tugu Pratama Indonesia Tbk (TUGU), and PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk (WINS). The presence of stock liquidity provider plays an important role in enhancing trading quality by narrowing bid-ask spreads, increasing market depth, and facilitating easier transactions for investors.
IDX Director of Trading and Membership Irvan Susandy stated that the active participation of Exchange Members as stock Liquidity Providers is a key element in improving liquidity and the quality of price discovery. “IDX appreciates the commitment of Phintraco Sekuritas in supporting the stock Liquidity Provider program. We hope this initiative will drive increased liquidity, particularly in stocks with strong growth potential,” he said.
IDX views the involvement of Exchange Members as a critical factor in the success of this program’s implementation. Therefore, IDX continues to encourage broader participation from market participants to ensure the initiative runs optimally. The successful execution of this inaugural quotation is expected to serve as a catalyst for other Exchange Members to participate, thereby fostering a more liquid, credible, and competitive trading ecosystem. This also reflects IDX’s ongoing commitment to deepening the market.
IDX will conduct continuous evaluations, provide incentives, and further encourage active participation from all Exchange Members in the stock Liquidity Provider program. This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen market structure and enhance the attractiveness of Indonesia’s capital market at both regional and global levels.
