Published on 15/07/2025

On Tuesday (15/7), Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) warmly welcomes the launch of the book “Understanding Carbon Trading for the Financial Services Sector” by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as part of the strategic efforts to enhance the role of the financial services sector in supporting the transition toward a green economy and low-carbon development.

The launch event, held at the Main Hall of IDX in Jakarta, was attended by the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar, Chief Executive of Capital Market, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervision Inarno Djajadi, President Director of IDX Iman Rachman, and President Director of the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) Samsul Hidayat.

As the appointed operator of the Indonesian Carbon Exchange, IDX sees this book as a vital reference to build comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, regulations, and mechanisms of carbon trading. The publication is expected to strengthen the financial sector’s literacy and participation in building a credible and trustworthy carbon market.

IDX President Director Iman Rachman expressed appreciation for the strong synergy between OJK and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), particularly in integrating the Indonesian Carbon Exchange with the National Registry System. OJK’s oversight and this integration serve as a critical foundation for maintaining the integrity and international credibility of Indonesia’s carbon market.

IDX remains committed to supporting the development of the national carbon trading ecosystem and contributing to Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission target by 2060 or sooner. This cross-sectoral collaboration marks an important collective step toward inclusive and sustainable green economic growth.
