Inauguration of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) KASB and Seminar on IFRS S1 & S2

On Friday (22/12), the inauguration of the Chair of the Business Sector Accountants Compartment (KASB) IAI, I Gede Nyoman Yetna, and the officials of KASB IAI for the 2023-2027 period took place at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The appointment of the chair and officials of KASB IAI plays a strategic role in embracing change and guiding business sector accountants towards a sustainable future, which, in turn, will support Indonesia’s economic growth. In addition to the IAI officials, the event was attended by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Commissioner Sophia Wattimena, Chair of the Professional Accountant in Business Advisory Group (PAIB AG) IFAC Sanjay Rughani, and the President Director of IDX Iman Rachman.

In his opening remarks, the President Director of IDX, Iman Rachman, stated, “I would like to congratulate the formation of KASB IAI and the inauguration of its complete board for the first time. KASB IAI is one of IAI’s achievements needed as a strategic link between industry and the profession.” Iman Rachman also appreciated the efforts and support that IAI has provided to the Indonesian Capital Market so far and hoped for continued and strengthened synergy in the future.

As part of the KASB IAI inauguration event, a seminar with the theme Challenges & Benefits in Adopting IFRS S1 & S2 was held. The seminar, supported by IDX, aimed to provide the latest updates on the development of sustainability standards in Indonesia and share insights with corporate accountants (preparers), including those from listed companies, regarding awareness of integrated reporting between financial reporting and sustainability reporting. Furthermore, the event also aimed to support the capacity building of listed companies and the business sector in general to accelerate the implementation of Comprehensive Corporate Reporting.
