Published on 15/05/2025

Medan – In commemoration of the 47th Anniversary of the Indonesia Capital Market, the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) consisting of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI), and Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI) organized a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities comprising blood donation, ambulance donation, and provision of prosthetic legs on Thursday (15/5) in Medan City and Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. These activities were conducted as a form of the capital market’s commitment to social responsibility, particularly in the healthcare sector.

The blood donation activity, which was held at the North Sumatra Financial Services Authority (OJK) Office, was inaugurated by the Head of OJK North Sumatra Province, Khoirul Muttaqien, and the President Director of KSEI, Samsul Hidayat, as a representative of the 47th Anniversary Committee of the Indonesia Capital Market. The event was also attended by IDX Business Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik, KPEI Director Umi Kulsum, Representative of the Financial Services Industry Communication Forum (FKIJK) North Sumatra Muchlisin, Head of the Medan 1 Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Representative Office Muhammad Yusron, and Deputy Head of the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Medan City Maulana Baihaki. Samsul explained that beyond being a tangible contribution to national medical needs, this blood donation event represents a humanitarian mission to help others through donated blood. “In addition to today’s blood donation event in Medan, similar activities have been conducted in Jakarta (December 2024), Semarang (February 2025), and Surabaya (February 2025). We hope that this series of blood donation events can reach a broader segment of society, thereby providing more extensive benefits,” said Samsul.

Furthermore, the Indonesia capital market also held a symbolic handover of one ambulance unit, presented by the Head of OJK North Sumatra Province Khoirul Muttaqien and KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat to the Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, Shadaqah Institution (LazisMu) of North Sumatra at the Muhammadiyah Da’wah Building in Medan City. The ceremony was also attended by IDX Business Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik, KPEI Director Umi Kulsum, General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of North Sumatra Irwan Syahputra, and Chairman of LazisMu North Sumatra Syahrul Amsari. During the ambulance handover ceremony, Samsul stated that access to ambulances remains limited in various regions of Indonesia, and many communities struggle to access this service due to distance, fleet limitations, or cost constraints. “Ambulances are a crucial necessity in the healthcare service system, especially for providing first aid and rapid access for people experiencing emergency conditions, such as accidents, heart attacks, strokes, or other medical complications,” Samsul remarked. The provision of this ambulance service is expected to be not merely a vehicle donation but a bridge of hope for communities, particularly those in areas with limited healthcare service access.

Additionally, the Indonesia capital market also distributed prosthetic legs to 31 physically disabled beneficiaries in need. The assistance was presented by KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat through the Benih Baik Indonesia Foundation (BenihBaik.com) at the Serdang Bedagai District Health Office. The event was also attended by Deputy Director of Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision (PUJK), Education and Consumer Protection of OJK North Sumatra Province Yovi Sukandar, IDX Business Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik, KPEI Director Umi Kulsum, Chief of Operations at BenihBaik.com Anggit Hernowo, and Acting Regional Secretary of Serdang Bedagai Regency Rusmiani Purba. Samsul explained that according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there are more than 900 people with disabilities in Medan City, and more than 570 of them are physically disabled, having limited mobility due to the loss of body parts. Therefore, the provision of prosthetic legs can serve as appropriate assistive devices that are comfortable to use and meet the needs of recipients, enabling them to walk again, pursue their dreams, and live better lives.

The series of CSR activities for the 47th Anniversary of the Indonesia Capital Market, conducted in collaboration with PMI, LazisMu North Sumatra, and BenihBaik.com, is expected to serve as a bridge to life and improve sustainable health standards for surrounding communities, creating positive change and inclusivity, especially for communities in North Sumatra Province. The CSR activity funds for the 47th anniversary of the Indonesia capital market are allocated to support CSR activities in the fields of environment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure improvement and development in various regions of Indonesia. These various CSR activities represent a form of appreciation for the capital market’s achievements, as well as the capital market’s commitment to providing direct benefits to society. Furthermore, the SRO will continue to strive to implement other beneficial long-term CSR activities for recipients and align with government efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are national development priorities.
