On Thursday (4/6), Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, organized a seminar titled “Strengthening SBSN Repurchase Agreement Transactions to Enhance SBSN Liquidity” at the IDX Main Hall in Jakarta. Opened by the IDX Director of Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs, Risa E. Rustam, this strategic forum was attended by a distinguished lineup of cross-authority VIPs, including the Director of Islamic Financing at the Ministry of Finance, Deni Ridwan; Deputy Director of the Islamic Economics and Finance Department of Bank Indonesia (BI), Tri Puji Lestari; Head of the Directorate of Islamic Financial Regulation and Development of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Nyimas Rohmah; Executive Board of DSN-MUI, M. Gunawan Yasni; President Director of KPEI, Iding Pardi; Director of KSEI, Eqy Essiqy; as well as leaders from the Himdasun, Apuvindo, and Asbanda associations. Through this robust synergy uniting fiscal, monetary, and capital market policies, the Exchange reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the scope of underlying instruments on the Alternative Market Operator System (SPPA) to accommodate State Sharia Securities (SBSN)-based Repo transactions to deepen national debt market liquidity.
As an integrated electronic platform holding Inter-market ETP operational licenses from both OJK and Bank Indonesia, SPPA has demonstrated highly significant performance growth, recording a total transaction value of IDR 602.9 trillion as of May 29, 2026, representing a 114.3% surge compared to the same period in the previous year. This growth was driven by the strong contribution of SBSN transactions, which reached IDR 105 trillion (41.3% of total transactions), and the outstanding performance of Repo transactions, which surpassed IDR 348.7 trillion. Through the expansion of this SBSN Repo mechanism, the Exchange is fully dedicated to facilitating the asset-liability management needs of commercial banks and Regional Development Banks (BPD) across Indonesia, improving the efficiency of the price discovery process, and automating post-trade systems. This inclusive collaboration is expected to optimize the potential of SBSN in the secondary market while building a financial market ecosystem that is more stable, transparent, and globally competitive.
