Synergy, Collaboration, and Digitalization Drive Indonesia Capital Market Investors Exceeding 16 Million

Published on 22/04/2025

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) hereby announces that the number of Indonesia capital market investors has officially exceeded 16 million Single Investor Identifications (SID) as of Tuesday (22/4), reaching precisely 16,021,179 SID. This figure has continued to increase to 16,216,944 SID by Tuesday (29/4), representing a growth of 1,345,305 SID throughout 2025. Notably, over 79% of these investors are under 40 years of age. This significant achievement is attributable to the close collaboration established between IDX, in conjunction with Self-Regulatory Organizations (SRO), supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) along with securities companies, through IDX Investment Galleries, universities, schools, governmental institutions, academic bodies, Capital Market Ambassadors, and other stakeholders. Furthermore, the attainment of 16 million investors also reflects the successful implementation of educational innovation initiatives and the digitalization of capital market information access.

IDX recognizes that digital readiness and the capacity to deliver relevant educational content that is readily accessible at any time and location constitutes a fundamental component of its strategic approach. These efforts are implemented through the IDX Representative Office network, IDX Investment Galleries, Capital Market Ambassadors, official IDX social media platforms, and various media channels that disseminate information regarding the Indonesia capital market. IDX additionally provides comprehensive market data, analytical resources, educational materials, and current information updates accessible via the IDX Mobile application, which presently serves more than 285,000 users. Content collaborations with influential personalities and the strategic utilization of IDX Representative Office social media platforms throughout Indonesia are concurrently undertaken to expand capital market literacy initiatives.

The digital approach has demonstrated its value not merely as a crisis response mechanism but has proven to function as an effective long-term strategy for reaching broader and more inclusive segments of the population. “These dual methodologies have not only transformed IDX’s strategic framework but have additionally reinforced our institutional commitment to persistently promoting capital market literacy and inclusion through adaptive, collaborative, and participatory digital approaches,” stated IDX Business Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik.

Jeffrey further noted that the nearly 1,000 IDX Investment Galleries currently established in universities, schools, and various institutions, coupled with 6,000 Capital Market Ambassadors, serve as critical intermediaries between academic institutions and the capital market ecosystem. “Through IDX Investment Galleries and Capital Market Ambassadors, capital market education extends to even the most remote regions,” Jeffrey explained.

Consequently, Jeffrey continued, IDX will maintain its commitment to expanding educational outreach across all societal segments, enhancing capital market inclusion through strategic collaborations with diverse stakeholders, and optimizing innovative educational programs to enable an increasing number of citizens to engage in secure and sustainable investment activities.

Since the commencement of 2025, IDX has conducted 3,979 educational activities across numerous regions, including the implementation of Capital Market Schools (SPM) ranging from level 1 to level 3, webinars, seminars, workshops, institutional visits to IDX facilities, development of educational content for social media platforms, and various additional training programs throughout Indonesia. The IDX, in cooperation with SROs and with OJK support, will organize the Capital Market Summit & Expo (CMSE) in 2025, with the Road to CMSE 2025 program having already been initiated since early March 2025. The CMSE 2025 series is being coordinated in collaboration with industry participants, academic institutions, community organizations, and mass media outlets.

Through collaborative synergy and comprehensive support from all capital market stakeholders in conducting educational initiatives that integrate traditional and digital platform, IDX has successfully communicated the message that investment constitutes an integral component of national advancement, which will ultimately result in an increased number of Indonesian citizens participating as investors in the capital market.
