‘Uncover the Success of Going Public’ Workshop in Collaboration with the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Grant Thornton Indonesia

On Monday, December 4, 2023, Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Indonesia Clearing and Guarantee Corporation (KPEI), Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), in collaboration with Grant Thornton Indonesia (GTI), organized the “Uncover the Success of Going Public” Workshop at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The workshop was attended by 41 participants who were potential company owners or management clients of GTI.

The workshop began with a welcome speech from Mr. Kristian Manullang, the Director of Transaction Supervision and Compliance at IDX, followed by Ms. Johanna Gani, the CEO of GTI. The workshop was conducted in a talk show format, moderated by Mr. Sofiyan Adhi Kusumah Dinata, Head of the Development Unit for Prospective Listed Companies 2 at IDX. The event featured various expert speakers in their respective fields. Ms. Listryorini Dian Pratiwi, Head of the Division for the Development of Listed Companies at IDX, Mr. Kevin Praharyawan, Director of Investment Banking – Capital Market at PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas representing Securities Issuer Guarantee, Mr. Tagor Sidik Sigiro, Audit and Assurance Partner at GTI representing Public Accounting Firms, and Ms. Dian Haryokusumo, Executive Director of Corporate Finance at PT Bukapalapak.com Tbk representing listed companies on IDX. The speakers shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants regarding the benefits, processes, and challenges faced by private companies intending to utilize alternative funding in the Indonesian capital market through Initial Public Offering (IPO).

The event was attended by 41 representatives from companies currently served by Grant Thornton Indonesia. IDX hoped that the workshop could help Grant Thornton Indonesia’s clients obtain information about the aspects that need to be prepared in an IPO and serve as encouragement to list on IDX, becoming a diversification option for the investment portfolios of Indonesian capital market investors, which currently reached 12.03 million investors (as of December 1, 2023). IDX, along with all other stakeholders in the capital market, continues to provide support and facilities to companies in Indonesia to leverage funding in the capital market. As of December 4, 2023, IDX has successfully listed new shares from 78 companies, raising a total of IDR 53.9 trillion. This achievement is a source of pride for the Indonesian capital market because the number of listings has surpassed the previous annual record set in 1990 with 66 companies. IDX and all stakeholders in the capital market hope to continue assisting companies in Indonesia to grow together with the Indonesian capital market.
