Sustainability plays a fundamental role in driving our value creation process. Our approach to sustainability is shaped by our vision to be ASEAN’s leading, sustainable and globally-connected marketplace and underpinned by our Sustainability Policy, where we aim to integrate sustainability into our daily conduct of business. As a frontline regulator and operator of the exchange, we recognise the need to have a holistic approach for our sustainability efforts. We aim to build a high-quality and sustainable capital market and to be a leading corporate governance and sustainability hub. Our one-stop knowledge centre, BURSASUSTAIN was established to promote and support further development in these areas among listed companies, investors and other stakeholders. Our Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, shares his thoughts and vision for the Malaysian capital market via an annual open letter to the Chairpersons of all listed issuers. Through these open letters, our Chairman aims to stress the importance of sustainability as a growth strategy and call for collective action to build a prosperous and sustainable society.
